An excerpt from a Gombhira pala (theatre) performance in Kolkata, by Amar Mondal and his group . Always satirical in tone, the theatre was always a part of the festivities during the traditional Gombhira festival of Malda. Today, the adherence to the festival alone, is no longer strictly maintained. An endangered form, it is recognised as a folk performance in its own right.
