Kurmi /Kurmi Mahato women paint exquisite ritual motifs on the ground in front of their homes and in their courtyards during the festival of Bandna. This is called Chauk Pura. Chauk is the Kurmali word for alpona. This documentation captures the art of Motibala and other Kurmi Mahato women of Tilgora village.
